Hi, Peg, and welcome back.

My own view on this is a simple one: live and let live. Some
people, either out of misunderstanding of the books, misunderstanding
of their own religion, or maybe something else entirely, genuinely
feel threatened by HP or concerned about it. They fret that their
children will pick up something dreadful that will undermine their
religious understanding.

To that I say: Whatever. If they don't wish to enjoy HP or have
their children read the books, fine. There are plenty of other books
that will not raise these issues for them, and they should just go
ahead and read those books instead. If they genuinely wish to
educated about HP, it is easy enough to do. They only have to read
the books.
