What I was wondering about is why V. hesitated to kill Lily in the first 
place. Why would he yell at her "Stand aside, stupid girl!"?  In GoF we were 
demonstrated that his usual position is "kill the spare". Why didn't he 
regard Lily as a spare?  My guess is she must have been special to him in 
some way.
