There are loads of other ways to kill someone without ever using the
AK. Think about it. Levitate and drop them. There must be some kind of
weighting spells and drop them into the ocean. I'm sure that the medical
spells could be used to kill, not cure.
I find the whole concept of hit wizards really interesting but then I
probably have read too many thrillers and watched too many gangster
movies. The image of a wizard in black robes, hood drawn over the face
(much like the pleurants/weepers from medieval tombs) for hire. Probably
very expensive but...
I can't remember but does the use of any of the unforgivable spells
register somewhere? I read in a chat that MoM can keep track of people
apparating (no, I don't remember which one. rats!) I can't help but
wonder if there are bookkeeping spells if there aren't ways to shortcut
them. Getting around things is a speciality of humankind. I suspect that
using the AK spell in the line of duty is OK. It would probably be pretty
desperate by that point. I just don't see any cowboy aurors out there.
I really hope we get a glimpse into the dark side of wizard life. JKR said
that it would get pretty dark by the end of the story. And we have to wait
until next summer for OoP.
