Shock manifests itself in a variety of ways. Laughter at
funerals. Uncontrollable shaking. Silence. I think Sirius' shock was
shown by the laughter. Everything must have hit at once. His friends'
deaths. Peter's horrid deed. Being set up. Thinking Lupin had betrayed
J&L. Just too much all at once. Probably felt he deserved getting
captured since he was the one who was still alive. I'm amazed he didn't go
completely mad from perceived guilt and being stuck in the soul-sucking
prison.
