My personal take is that their are more than five Gryffindor boys. I'd
imagine that there is another room with five first year boys...but
they play very little in to the story line so they are never
mentioned. I'd venture to guess that Hermione is not the only
Gryffindor of her age taking ancient runes and arithmancy. I believe
that within the houses the students are broken up into smaller groups
defined by their rooms.
Now here is my question...what is the schedule like for these classes?
They don't go to their first DADA class until Thursday, yet they will
return on a Monday...seems rather hard to figure out the
schedule....must be the reason Hermione is always consulting her
schedule.
