Well, I've commented on this in the past, and will doubtless do so 
again in the (possibly near) future, but I don't have much time at 
this precise moment.  So instead I offer a Carnegie Medal acceptance 
speech by children's author Philip Pullman as one reason why adults 
might read children's literature (other than nostalgia and the other 
reasons you gave)
