Not only that, because the books are written from Harry's point of 
view, and he's certainly not aware of any Hermione interest, those 
clues would necessarily have to be rather subtle.  Even so, I think 
she appears more interested in Harry than in Ron, though.

Yes, the complete phrase is :"Good question. I'm having so much fun 
writing Book 4 because for the first time Harry, Ron, and Hermoine 
are starting to recognize boys and girls as boys and girls. Everyone 
is in love with the wrong people. Let no one say my books lack 
realism."

So, taken that, who is Ron in love with in Book 4?  Quite obviously 
Hermione.  My scenario just had a quantum leap in credibility with me 
finding the exact wording of the chat statement that JKR made here.
