The children/adult literature question is like determining how many angels
dance on the head of a pin. Compared to what? My daughter loves me to read
to her from "children's" literature because of all the different voices I
give to the various characters. Aside from the various magic/occult
references, the vocabulary in HP is considerably simpler than the language
in the Wizard of Oz series. Both series are children's books on one level
and adult on another. The authors' brilliance is being able to write for
multiple audiences simultaneously.
