At the end of book 4, in the Third Task pg 616 US) Bill says "I
haven't seen this place in five years" This seems a little off, but
I'd venture to say that he has only been out of school about six to
seven years. Here's my reasoning:
* The spacing of the four Weasleys that we see at Hogwarts tends to be
one to two years. I'd guess that Percy and Charlie have the biggest
gap between them at four years (probably a miscarriage in there). I'd
say that Bill and Charlie are spaced, like Ron & Ginny, at one year.
* Wood goes on and on about how they haven't won the Quiditch Cup
since Charlie was seeker, but I also think that Wood played on the
same team as Charlie at some point in time. My belief here as that the
last time they won the cup was during Charlie's third year (before
Wood came to Hogwarts). Charlie was still on the team and they
performed admirably, but came up short on the actual cup. Once they
lost their star seeker, they were lucky to beat Hufflepuff ;)
* So at the beginning of book one that put them at:
  Ginny 10
  Ron 11
  F&G 13
  Percy 15
  Charlie 19
  Bill 20
So at age one Ginny had her heart set on going to Hogwarts :) I don't
think this layout of the ages it too far off...it puts Bill at about
24 or 25 in book four when Fluer thinks he's a hottie...not to much of
a stretch for an 18 or 19 year old.
