Y'know, I've actually been giving this a lot of thought, lately.
>I have a sneaking suspicion she was Slytherin -- what with how she
>skulks about ogling the nekkid male Prefects but pretending to be oh-
>so-innocent. It amuses me to believe that a good dose of her hair-
>trigger hysterics are a put-upon to fluster the students and
>entertain herself.
And then.....
>No way was [Moaning Myrtle] Slytherin, sorry - Malfoy says when H & R sneak
>into
>the common room, that 'last time, a Mudblood died' - a muggle born
>witch would NOT be in Slytherin!! I can't remember anything else
>saying where she might be though.
Does it actually say anywhere that Slytherin is comprised entirely of pure
blood students?
As far as I can tell, the requirements for Slytherin are ambition, cunning,
"a certain disregard for rules," a good helping of ruthlessness....Why can't
a muggle-born or half blood student have these qualities? There are
certainly loads of lawyers, stockbrokers, accountants, doctors and various
other muggle professionals who would fit the bill. I've always imagined
that there must be a few, bitter mudbloods who were unfortunate enough to
have landed in Slytherin despite the prejudice against them....I guess the
question is whether or not the Sorting hat would be cruel enough to put a
kid though that, if it thought Slytherin's philosophy would suit them.
Oh, and BTW...if any of you were offended by my use of the word
"mudblood"....you read too much Harry Potter. ;}
heheh
