Marauders Map /Crookshanks/Trevor (was:Things important to future books)

I've been thinking along the lines that Harry DOESN'T get the 
Marauders Map back, at least not for a while. Dumbledore only 
realises its significance at the end of GofF doesn't he, so I'd have 
thought he would want to keep it, as it is such an amazingly useful 
tool for him. I think the Marauders Map is going to be pivotal, 
because, as we know, it reveals everyone's true identity. This leads 
me on to answer a previous thread... 

There's no mention of Crookshanks appearing on he map as anything 
other than a cat at the end of PofA, so I would therefore assume that 
he is merely a cat/kneazle, albeit an extremely intelligent one (the 
perfect pet for Hermione, I always think). If only we knew what 
Trevor appeared as on the Marauder's Map we'd know if he was hiding a 
secret identity. I doubt it though, as I'm sure Harry would have 
noticed a strange person's name hanging around Gryffindor tower. I 
wonder why they never noticed Rita Skeeter on it though, when she was 
meant to be banned from Hogwarts grounds? I know Harry doesn't 
actually have the map for a lot of the 2nd half of GofF, but 
still...
