School for young wizards/witches?

Hey guys,

There's something I've been wondering ever since the first book, and it
occurs to me that maybe someone on here knows the answer.  What kind of
schooling do Hogwarts students receive prior to attending Hogwarts?  We
know that Harry has been in the public school system, as Hermione most
likely has and probably the other Muggle-born students as well.  But what
about Ron and his siblings, and other children born into wizarding
families?  Are they home-schooled, or is there something along the lines
of a wizard's elementary school?  I'm assuming they must get educated in
some fashion, since they arrive at Hogwarts knowing basic skills like how
to read.  Any theories on this?
