I also dissagree that Hermione is attracted by power but perhaps the
friend meant "Power" as in "Magical Power" not is the power to get
something done for you or influence other people. After all Harry
defeated the most Powerful dark lord, Lockhart (until he was foiled)
seemed to have got ride of/cured so many dark creatures that his
Magical power must have been great. Krum is in the TWT and so his
power must have at least been greater than the rest of his School
mates.

But do they have a stong amount of magical power going on what we
know from the books?
The only people we seem to know in the books are are stronly powerful
in a magical sense are:
Harry: Defeated LV.
LV: Before his downfall and now he has returned.
Dumbledore: Must be powerful or LV would not be frightened of him.
Those are the only ones we know that have exceptional Magical
power, there maybe otehrs that we have not yet seen evidence from.
Infact you could even doubt whether Harry is that great as some
people would argue that he has had four lucky escapes rather than is
very powerful. The fact that his wand is LV's brother and must be
rather powerful if it is from Fawkes plus it choose him, could be one
thing that would back up Harry's (atleast potential) power.
It all depends on what your interpretation of teh word power is, do
you mean:
The power to get things done,
The power to influence othher people,
Magical Power,
The power to control Life and Death (a judge/Doctor etc)
The list goes on!
