I have to agree with this. :)

Though as for the wand thing, it is said that using
another wizard's wand won't work *as well as* your
own. I'm sure if you're an older, more accomplished
wizard, it's easier than, say, Ron borrowing Harry's.

Well, these don't nessessarily make someone a great
wizard so much as someone with enough heart to
remember the good memories and enough wit/intelligence
to figure out how to get around the Dementors. :) But
close enough, I know why you put them in the same
thread. :)

Well, you know Sirus probably completely
underestimated Pettigrew. His intelligence, his
powers, and deffinately underestimated his desire to
'buddy up' with the stronger power.

Other than just underestimating Wormtail - the
knowledge that he killed the Potters probably hadn't
quite sunken in yet. Sirus was in a killing rage, he
wasn't quite ready to handle *anyone* yet, because he
hadn't distanced himself from his emotions yet. Ever
gotten so angry that instead of leveling a killing
insult (or in those more physical than I - a great
whopping punch), you shout something that doesn't make
sense (or don't hit anything at all)? ^^; Same thing,
only this wound up killing Muggles and sending Sirus
to Wizardling Jail. ;p
