Oppinion on O.W.L.s and N.E.W.T.s

Ok, here is how I interpret O.W.L.s. When the Wizard takes their O.W.L.s they are tested in all the areas they have studdied. That there are 12 indicate that when they recieve their testing they will have studdied, with electives included, a total of 12 areas of magic. Each O.W.L they recieve indicate that they have met the expectations for that area of magic. Thusly the O.W.L.s are merely an aptitude test rating them as opposed to the average wizard or witch in the study of magic. Whereas the N.E.W.T.s are more like an aptitude test of their overall abilities shortly before graduation to help the young wizard or witch determine what loccupation they truely are suited for. Just because one studies Care for Magical Creatures means that they will become a caretaker and specialist on that subject.
