The other theory on "Double" classes is that there are two houses in
the lessons. You may notice that the "double" classes are the only
ones where two houses are mentioned. My guess is that it is a
combination of the two...since the classes are twice as long they need
to through in twice the students to balance out. The only flaw to this
second theory is that I don't recall them calling it double flying
lessons or double CoMC. So John's explanation is probably more
accurate.
