I don't think most of the HP fanfiction is related only to the sexuality of
our characters and I find it insulting that you would say so. I am a writer
that writes the relationships of them yes, but I deal with everything BUT
sex. I write the emotions that go into a relationship, good and bad, I
focus on the ramifications of what one party does. I have never written
about sex and I never will.
There are several other authors out there that I read that focus on
everything but the sex. And they deserve to be counted and they deserve to
be recognized for such.
But on the other hand, you can't leave sex out of the stories entirely and
authors see that. We are dealing with teenagers. Teenagers who have
feelings and emotions and actions all related to sex. You can't write a
story purely with he adult characters and expect it to keep going, you need
every character to get a story going and keep it as such. And now while I'm
not advocating the 'porn' aspect of some writing, I'm saying you cannot
write and ignore what they are entirely. Sex happens. Sex is a big part of
being a teenager. Not all character may sleep around but they'll be
thinking about sex and about the opposite sex no matter what.
Even aging the character up does not solve the problem. Sex is a part of
life. It's the reason we has humans do whatever we do. It controls every
aspect of our lives and will always do so.
I think that the fully description and boring 'porn stories' are pointless
and excessive and annoying yes, but sex, if well handled and well done in
the plot can actually enhance a story or a moment much more so then having
20+ celibate characters.
So maybe you should re-think what style of fiction your reading before you
put your foot down on what is entirely good and entirely bad. (and saying
away from Fanfiction.net is a good idea if you don't want mass teen
groping).

Giles (to the Council members): You all stand around and look somber.
(Indeed they do.) Good job.
Quentin: You used to respect us, Giles. You used to be one of us.
Giles: You used to pay me.
