Hi, I'm a newbie (but an old fan...). Nice to meet you all, and
wouldn't my sister (she's 16) just love this group. She's got a
"Penseive" 33 pages long with book quotes she thinks will be important
in the future plus a list of all adult wizards named in the books and
a timeline! That said, I'm not nearly as obsessed as she as, although
I can come close sometimes...

On this topic...

I don't think so. Hermione's been using the Time Turner all year.
Surely her first thought on seeing another version of herself would be
"Oops, my future self just messed up and let me see me."

On the topic of changing history, I don't think they did. Of course,
this is the whole "what happens in time-travel" problem. Either they
changed history or they didn't, but if you go back and read very
carefully both the first and second version of events, everything fits
in nicely for there only being one line events. They were there twice
from both points of view, they just misinterpreted events the first
time around.

The only problem with this is why didn't Lupin see two versions of
Harry and Hermione on the Marauder's Map?
