Variations (PS/SS, editions, etc.)

Hi, there,

I'm a newbie, and I apologize if this has been disucssed before.  I 
just don't have the patience to go through 30,000+ messages.  ;)

If there is a web site out there that could help me, that would be 
great... What types of variations are there between PS & SS, first 
editions, second editions, etc.?  I am awaiting delivery of PS 
(bought the 4 book set from Amazon UK), and have read the four 
American versions twice.  Just wondering if there was a list of 
variations out there?
