House Points and Quidditch

In Ch 22 of PoA it says "... Gryffindor House, meanwhile, largely 
thanks to their spectacular performance in the Quidditch cup, had won 
the house championship for the third year running." 

But I don't know how the points translate.  This suggests a point 
award based on score ("spectacular performance"), as opposed to the 
flat rate idea, where the performance needn't be "spectacular" per 
say, but could Gryffindor House be any less than that?!  I've often 
wondered this...
