In GoF, during Harry's duel with Voldemort, the color of Harry's spell
(Expelliarmus) was red, and Voldemort's (Avada Kedavra) was green. I
believe that those particular spells just have those particular colors, so I
doubt that this has any hidden meaning, but it did catch my eye when I read
it because I had also noticed the red vs. green theme. I wonder if this is
actually important or if JKR just uses it as a sort of metaphor (red and
green are opposite colors).

I've noticed some interesting color wars throughout the books,
particularly with the color red verses the color green. I can think
of three examples right off the top of my head.

The first, the obvious one, is Gryffendor verses Slytherin

The second is in GoF, Ireland verses Bulgaria (Bulgaria actually
might have been orange, but I'm pretty sure it was red)

The third is the red of Voldemort's eyes verses the green of Harry's
eyes. JKR herself said that eyes were important.

I wonder if there is any significance to any of this, or if it's
coincidence. Can anyone think of any other examples?
