I wouldn't be at all surprised if the DEs challenge Voldemort at a
particularly vulnerable moment. We see this all the time in the
animal world (the Head Lion has an injury, and the young lions seize
the opportunity to make a snack of him). I think all of Voldemort's
mistreatment of Wormtail is going to come back to haunt him. In
other words, it might not be Lupin who should fear Wormtail's silver
hand.
