   God, I hate time travel. It's not that I mind the
deus ex machina aspect but untangling the paradoxes
makes my head hurt.
   Allyse makes a very good point. Dumbledore knows
somebody saved Buckbeak, he knows the terrible trio
have been helping Hagrid defend the hippogriff and he
knows Hermione has a time turner. It would not take a
very large flash of his well known brilliance to
deduce what must have happened - and realize he's
going to have to see that it does.
