Well, technically JKR said it was a place that had been mentioned, but 
we'd never seen before.  We have seen the Slytherin common room once 
before (albeit not in great detail) when Harry and Ron use the 
Polyjuice Potion to disguise themselves as Crabbe and Goyle in COS.  
So we may see the Slytherin common room again, but it's probably not 
the place JKR was referring to in this instance.
