Dear Harry Potter friends:

I thought I had checked in on all my lists..and then I thought, oh 
no! harry potter!

I hope that we've located everyone, and that everybody is okay. 

May the Goddess or God be with you all today. Here in the U.S., we've 
been mostly spared the constant fear of terrorist attacks, but no 
more. 

This is so personal for all of us -- my dad worked at the World Trade 
Center, I lived on Long Island, and went to college in D.C. I'm 
calling all my all friends to check in with them.

Where I work - SAFE House - we met today...and someone said that it 
felt like a major disturbance in the Force..we talked about how not 
to give into hatred. We're familiar with terrorists -- a batterer 
recently flew his own plane to murder his wife and son in their 
house -- luckily they had escaped, but he died..... We are trying to 
focus on care and compassion for each other during this dreadful time.

We're all giving blood 1-800-GIVELIFE.

We also talked about not resorting to racism. No one knows yet who 
did these despicable crimes, and in any case, it's not the fault of 
Arab Americans or Muslims in our own communitiy. We're making a 
special effort to reach out to our neighbors--we certainly don't want 
a repeat of what happened to the Japanese after Pearl Harbor.
