Michelle,
I was talking with my husband on the phone when the first tower
collasped and his first comment was concerning the emergency
personnel. He believes that some of those workers might be people
that he knows. He is anxious to get more information, as we all
are.
I heard a 67 year old former New York firefighter crying over his
brothers and sisters who have lost their lives. He no longer lives
in New York and it was breaking his heart that he could do nothing
for them. He talked about firefighters and their sacrifices. It was
very touching.
I guess what I am trying to say is that many of us are very much
aware of what emergency personnel do. My husband has fellow workers
and friends who were called up yesterday to go to New York and/or
Washington D.C.
I have been praying for all and thought I would share a portion of a
prayer that was sent to me this morning:
*We seek Your peace for the emergency workers - that You would guard
their lives as they seek to guard the lives of others. Give them the
wisdom they need to perform their duties above and beyond the levels
of their training*
My prayers for all others who will be risking their lives in an
effort to help others. Of course my prayers also go out to the
victims and their families and for this great country.
