It only takes one party to wage war.  We are at war, and we have
already taken far more casualties than in Desert Storm.  To think
otherwise is worse than to be an ostrich.

I am afraid that you are right about future unreasoning treatment of
persons of Middle Eastern origin, but I so believe that if it occurs,
it will be the actions of private individuals, and not an official US
government policy.  We have learned from our mistakes.

I wanted to leave your original message up in its entirety, it was so
moving, but I urge that all us listees read it.

I hate war.  I have been in war.  There are times, however, when you
have no choice about being in a war.  Pearl Harbor was one of those
times, and so is The World Trade Center.  That is why these two
monstrosities are linked.  We have no choice about being at war.  We
can only choose whether to be defeated to to emerge victorious.
