This is the first time I've checked in with HPFGU since Monday -
that's a first for me to go that long. What I saw when the list came
up was one posting after another from people all over the world
wishing us here in NYC best wishes and prayers. I want to thank every
one who has emailed and asked about us in NYC and DC.

I counted my blessings yesterday when I heard about the WTC because I
was up in the Bronx and, ironically, safer in that neighborhood than I
would have been downtown in Manhattan. My family is safe and so are
my friends. I'm also glad to hear that all the New Yorkers from this
list are safe and sound.

Mayor Giuliani has advised us all to just get back to our lives and go
about things normally. He is NOT a mayor I support, but he has been
fantastic throughout this and he is right; we need to be strong and
not let whoever did this get the best of us. I have faith in New
Yorkers that we can all get through this. It is truly amazing how New
Yorkers have banded together to help (more than 10,000 people have
offered to volunteer and thousands of people are lining up to give
blood) and the rest of the country has been supportive and
sympathetic. I have even heard stories of people from as far away as
Australia saying that they were up all night watching the news over
there. The world is at a standstill.

Thank you again to everyone who has sent messages to me and all other
NYers about our tragedy. This group is the best.
