The reaction from London

There are so many things I want to say to you guys but
most of them are hopelessly inadequate.

I walked through the City of London today, through the
square mile as I so often do and people were subdued,
apprehensive. A lot of us are missing people we've
only ever known as a voice over a trading line. 

But a voice, just like an e-mail can tell you a lot
about a person; and when contact is daily ... well you
know what I mean!

On my way home I went via the US Embassy and left some
flowers and a note along with the other tributes that
have been flooding in. 

I am distraught, for the voices and for the others. 

Nothing has ever hit me like this before, not even the
death of my father.

I cannot even imagine how those of you who are missing
close relatives are feeling ... please, just know that
we are feeling for you.

I am in awe of the rescue workers; I don't think I
would have had the courage to even enter that building
and TRY.
