ADMIN: Discussions of Prayer, Religion

Hi --

Me again.  Listen up: please cease & desist from the current direction 
that I see the discussions about prayer & religion heading.

As I said in my past message, this is a time of great tragedy for the 
U.S. and the world at large.  We are a group of diverse membership.  We 
are also supposed to be a group of adults.  Act like it.

Use some general common sense, folks.  Don't forward to the list 
messages about prayer (or really any of the other general informational 
type emails that seem to widely circulate at a time like this).  People 
who will appreciate that sort of thing have probably received it from 
several other sources.

By the same token, those of you who are not Christians or not religious, 
just ignore it if someone references the word Jesus or prayer in their 
post at a time like this.  If, on the other hand, you are religious and 
feel compelled to make some sort of religious reference in your message, 
just keep in mind that this group is composed of people of all different 
religions and people who practice no religion.  In other words, be sure 
your reference is inocuous and/or non-offensive to people with different 
beliefs.

In short, as I said above, just use *common sense.*

It seems utterly insane to me at a time like this that we can't all just 
get along.  I will not hesitate to put people who persist in this thread 
on moderated status.
