Greetings,

I am sure that many of you, like me, have watched the myriad images related
to Tuesday's attack on television, in news papers and in magazines. While
they are all hard to look at, hard to watch, and even harder to digest, there
are some I saw today that made me weep with love and hope.

The first of these are the images of our embassies around the world, and the
outpouring of love our fellow countries are showing us. I wept as people
place flowers, cards, candles, and other signs of hope and blessing in front
of the gates around our embassies.

The second was watching the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace in
London. Instead of playing "God Save the Queen," as is normal during the
Changing of the Guard, the band played "The Star Spangled Banner." The Prime
Minister, members of the Royal family, and British citizens all gathered to
watch this. They stood with hands over their hearts, and tears streaming down
their faces. I wept, and wept over this, for the love and compassion that our
British brothers and sisters have for us. It's hard for me now to even
recount it, as I have tears running down my face.

I apologize if this is off topic, but I had to express my gratitude to all of
our support abroad.

Love,
Lotus
