I hated to snip even one word of the original post, I hope that those
who have not read it will do so.  I am unashamedly proud of America.
I know in my heart that it is the noblest experiment in liberty ever
to grace the Earth.  Americans have not always acted perfectly, but we
have tried to live up to the ideals we profess.  Our great strength is
that all who come here and strive to profess these same ideals become
Americans-- Not Arab-Americans, Polish-Americans, Chinese-Americans,
and so forth.  This isn't simply rhetoric, this is reality.

Today our Congress has passed legislation condemning the outrageous
attacks upon Americans who come from the same part of the world as the
terrorists.  We remember our mistake with Japanese-Americans in WWII,
and we will not repeat it.  Those Unamerican fools who have acted so
abominably are repudiated. They should go report to the ranks of the
terrorists, because, by these hateful acts, they are doing the
terrorists' work for them.  They need to relearn what this wonderful
country really is, and what Americans and America stands for.

I personally will not tolerate any such actions or any such speech,
and I will interpose my body in defense of any American so threatened.
