But as I learn of others I grow more aware of the problem, evil
affects everyone. Harry is not alone in his fight. He has friends,
neighbors, family (?), peers, and others who are willing to stand up
to evil. Everyone (directly and indirectly) has suffered greatly.>

I really like what you wrote and you compared Harry and his world to
what has been going on in RL. I, too have been thinking about Harry.
We've definitely been struck by Death Eaters and we have a lot to
learn. It is so true that many more lives are touched by tragedy than
what we first think. How could any of us have known Neville's
history? I love Harry all the more for having a heart big enough to
feel for Neville when Harry has suffered losses no less tragic. I
love Harry all the more for having the resolve to do the right thing.
He inspires me.

I am hearing that Bush is officially planning a retaliation, which
sickens me. If they draft men, my boyfriend will have to go. I
wonder what Dumbledore would say. Somehow, I cannot imagine him
advising others to go out and destroy the land and lives of the people
who are our perceived enemies. I hate the idea that Afghanistan will
be bombed because they too have families, jobs and lives. Bin Laden,
I am willing to bet, will not be killed in any retaliation. I wish
sometimes (well, all the time, really) that Dumbledore was real and
could sit down and have a long talk with Bush.

On one of my first e-mail postings, I received a

spelled Voldemort incorrectly. >

I've been there. Just ask John Walton about the day I wrote "whose"
instead of "who is"!
