A valid point - but maybe we should give the twins a little
credit here, it seems the engorgement spell elongates but does not
thicken the tongue thus not cutting off the windpipe.
Can I add it

*Snicker* what a description of a Dementor!

Sirius isn't evil but it does bother me that even now, when he's
all grown up, he *still* doesn't seem to realize the seriousness of
what he tried to do. Frankly Snape has a right to hold a grudge here,
he could have been killed - or at the very least cursed with an
incurable affliction. Not to mention how poor Lupin would have felt
when he returned to normal!
BTW: Hello all from a two week old HP fan ;)
