In the text of the "Vanity Fair" article (I had to tear my eyes from
the fabulous pics) they revealed that JKR has detailed histories of
each character INCLUDING THE CHILDHOOD OF SIRIUS BLACK. (sorry, I
cannot type italics) so that she could maneuver her characters in the
story.  Wouldn't you love to get hold of those biographies?
