1)	The classic question: (Did you really think we
could have an
essay on Houses and not bring this up?) Slytherin
House: evil or just
bad press?

Bad press. Hey, I'm not evil and I've been known to
have more than few Slytherin leanings (But I'm still a
solid Ravenclaw!)

2)	What houses do you think some of the people
belonged to when
they went to Hogwarts? Such as, what house produced
batty ol' Trelawney
anyways?

Well, we know about Voldie, Hagrid, and James for a
few. Trelawney seems like a Slytherin..it takes a lot
of ambition and cunning to be believed when you are
lying out of your teeth. Sinistra is Probably a
Ravenclaw, Hooch seems like a Hufflepuff.

3)	How does the Sorting Hat sort? For example, what
sort of process
does it use that ends up with Hermione in Gryffindor?
(Disclaimer: I'm
not saying she should be elsewhere, but considering
how she was in the
beginning of PS, I think she would have been happier
at first in
Ravenclaw where being smart is cool and not in
Gryffindor where she was
teased for being a know-it-all.)

Well it takes a lot of bravery to go into a house
where you're not sure if you'll fit in, Sure, the
Ravenclaws would have welcomed her openly, but what
kind of challenge would that be? I like to think the
Hat sorts you more by what you want to be and what
would be best revealed than by what you are.

4)	JKR has said there is more to the Sorting Hat than
is apparent.
What sort of things do you think we'll see the Hat
involved with?

Mebbe more pointy things will come out of it!!

5)	How important do you think is the fact that the
Sorting Hat used
to be Godric Gryffindor's?

I think it might have a bias. After all, they could
have used anyone' s hat, but Godric insisted. Sounds
like he was the Alpha male.

6)	Do you think we'll find out more about the Founders
as the
series continues and what do you think we'll learn?

I hope we learn more about why Salazar got such bad
press, and Rowena and Helga too.

7)	What did Salazar Slytherin hope to accomplish with
his building
of the Chamber of Secrets? Do you think the chamber
had some other
purpose beyond having a giant creature available to
kill Muggle born
wizards, perhaps to be used in defense of the school?

Defence would be good, but it would take a Parsel
mouth to control it...so no. And a Pure blood and
Muggle born probably don't look any different except
the nose in the air..so no. I think it was just more
of a "Fine, I'll leave, but you won't like what I left
in your shoe when you find it!" attitude that prompted
the Chamber.

8)	We haven't seen much of either Ravenclaw or
Hufflepuff in the
first four books. Do you think they will end up
playing a more
important
role later?

Oh, I hope so, they get such bad press.

9)	What do you think the reasons are for the colors
and animals of
the different houses? You can choose to answer this
either from JKR's
perspective (i.e. the mythological reasons) or from
the Founders (like
Slytherin being a Parselmouth.)

Godric roared and stomped around a lot, and liked
bright colors that looked royal.
Salazar picked Green and gold just to be opposite of
Godric.
Rowena was into cool colors (as opposed to warm) and
blue's pretty cool. She liked mettalics too, but since
Salazar and Godric took the first two metals she had
to settle for bronze. As for the Eagle--she hoped
soaring above the petty differences in students would
one day make them all a united force.
Helga liked Yellow, it's warm like the sun, and Black
is like dirt. And when the going get's rough, you dig
a hole and hide in it and come out when things have
calmed down. Like a Badger.

10)	Do the other wizardly schools have houses or is
this something
just with Hogwarts?

They might, if it's based off the Hogwarts model. But
they may have more or fewer, and based on differnet
qualities.

>> Well, I think that's enough questions, I already
deleted a bunch of
questions because they were a bit silly. <<
