makeup of list, but our views and the free exercise of an
opportunity to speak about them within the bonds of courtesy.
I do not answer these questions on US government forms. I think
you are literally out of order in this matter. What should come
first is an explanation of what need there might be for such polls
and the uses to which this information will be put. You have not
earned the benefit of the here by your previous actions, IMHO.
Whether or not you will publish personal information, this
information is personally linked to each one of us listees.

No, it isn't. As stated before the polls are blind and who replied
and in what way they replied is hidden. Also, it is entirely
optional, no one ever stated that anyone had to participate in the
polls. If you don't want to, don't. I'm not going to but that doesn't
mean I think the polls shouldn't have been posted.
I'm sorry if I sound short, it's just that the moderator team tries
very very hard to keep a huge list of very diverse people happy.
Obviously nobody can keep this amount of people happy all the time
but I think a certain amount of credit should be given to them for
working so hard for no monetary recompense. In fact, their recompense
lately seems to be to have people swear at them on list.
As a final note, I am grateful to them for treating matters of
religion and sexual orientation as not necessarily appropriate for
this list. This is not a government forum where free speech on any
and all topics is ours by right. When you join this list you agree to
keep things on the topic this list was created to discuss. If it
devolved into an argument about religion and politics I would leave
as, no doubt, would many others.
