One from each House eh? it's possible, and would
perhaps explain the virulance of Snape's hatred for
Sirius if he views him as some sort of traitor to
their House for hanging out with James. However a
close friendship between a Slytherin and Gryffindor is
problematical to say the least considering the rivalry
between the two Houses. More likely both James and
Sirius are Gryffindors.
On the other hand Peter and Lupin could both have
belonged to another house, probably Ravenclaw, which
seems to be regarded favorably by both Slytherins and
Gryffindors, unlike Hufflepuffs who are considered 'Duffers'.
