LOL! I was one, too, for about a decade but then I got into MVS systems
work (and a brief sojourn into DB/2) but now I'm a craftsman and I get to
actually touch my work instead of "if you didn't know I was there, it
worked like a champ".
I dunno. I think applications work is more like MoM work but I'd be happy
to be convinced otherwise I think systems work is more like building and
maintaining a network of spells and charms, etc... But they both require
some kind of JCL/DCL/whatever to make them go. Hmm, maybe there's a group
of wizards who make sure spells continue to work over time. I think I'm
going to sit down now and enjoy the image of a cube farm in the wizard
world. I wonder what Dilbert would do in the wizarding world?
I'd like to hear what other folks think their jobs would equate, too, or is
that something else that needs to go onto the OT list?
