Hi, I'm new here ^_^ You can just call me Sarah (just one of the few
trillion Sarah people out there). But I'm from New Zealand, so maybe you can
call me Kiwi Sarah ~_^
On the topic of prefects, I reckon there are twenty-four prefects, because
why would the school bother making fifth and sixth-years prefects and then
not having them as prefects in the seventh year?
What I'm talking about is loosly based on the system at my high school,
except at my school all the prefects are in year 13 (seventh year
equivalent).
In Hogwarts there could be eight prefects in fifth year and sixth year, and
six prefects in seventh year with the other two being the ones elected HB
and HG (who would have had to be prefects before). That means there are two
people from each house in each year fulfilling the role as prefect (if you
do your division). More than likely, a boy and a girl, because it seems to
be pretty gender equal there (at my school, it's two thirds boys and one
third girls, meaning sixteen boy prefects and eight girls).
But, gee, if there are twenty-four, it sounds like they get close to a
palace for a bathroom ;-)
Back to lurkdom,
Sarah
