Amy, now you've got me a little worried.  We know that JKL never does 
the obvious.  That, and the evidence you provide that Lupin will 
appear in Book 7, suggests that he is safe for now.  (Whew!)  

So who has a bulls-eye on his or her back?  In the Derby, I don't 
think anyone suggested Sirius would die.  But aside from Harry, 
Sirius is the character who faces the most "risk."  He could die at 
the hands of Voldemort, MoM, or a dementor.  It also fits that it 
would half-crucify JKR to write Sirius' demise (it would half-crucify 
me, anyway), and it would satisfy Luke's theory that we can't just 
have peripheral characters dying.

That means we need a Sirius club, and in a hurry, too.  Acronyms, 
anyone?
