I think Harry is jealous of Ron's family. One of the first things he
says to Ron is very revealing. It's when they meet on the train in SS:
"Wish I'd had three wizard brothers."
(Harry doesn't know about Bill & Charlie at this point)
Harry also sees his own family when he looks in the Mirror of Elised.
Seeing Ron with his large family reminds Harry of what Vol has taken
away from him. He will never have any brothers & sisters and
will never know his father & mother. Harry isn't bitter about it but
I do think he is jealous. I don't think Ron is aware of
this jealously, though.
