I reread Cho's passages in GoF and Harry's attraction is more 
than 'she's pretty'. In Ch. 19 (p 315 in my edition) Rita Skeeter's 
1st article on Harry has just come out. Ron and Harry are fighting 
and Hermione's the only friend Harry seems to have. At this time, 
Harry blows up at an innocent comment...

"Hey --- Harry!"

"Yeah that's right!" Harry found himself shouting as he wheeled 
around in the corridor, having had just about enough. "I've just been 
crying my eyes out over my dead mum and I'm just off to do a bit 
more..."

"No--- it was just--- you dropped your quill."

It was Cho. Harry felt the color rising in his face.

"Oh--- right--- sorry," he muttered, taking the quill back.

"Er... good luck on Tuesday," she said, "I really hope you're doing 
well."

While all off Hogwart's seemed to be resenting and ridiculing Harry, 
Cho reached out with encouragement. Among the teenage girls I grew up 
with, that caring is rare.

Then when he did well on the 1st test and girls he never knew fawned 
over him, Cho treated him the same. If Harry had been a little 
quicker and asked first, I think Cho would have accepted his invite 
to the Yule Ball.

I don't want to ship, but let me say that there is more to Cho than 
posters have given her credit. I look forward to seeing her in books 
5,6,and 7.
