As you wish . . .
CoS, US paperback edition, Chapter 17:
"You think I was going to use my filthy Muggle father's name
forever?I, in whose veins runs the blood of Salaxar Slytherin
himself, through my mother's side?"
So, yes.

I'd gotten the impression from that scene that Dumbledore is, in
fact, Gryffindor's heir. I'm also quite certain, from his references
to the Dursleys as the only family Harry has left, that he's not a
close relative of Harry's. Fanfic aside, that means that Harry isn't
the heir of Gryffindor, although it doesn't rule out their both being
descended from Godric by completely different paths.

No, but we are repeatedly hit over the head with his uncanny
resemblance to James, who seems to have been rather popular in his
day. Stan might not recognize Harry through the resemblance, but
Ernie should, if they move in the Hogwarts circles. I rather like
the theory that they both left Hogwarts after their OWLs, as it keeps
them out of the loop without kludging "extra" wizarding schools.

The Frog Prince is only the most famous of the Libido Beasts; the
Beast of Beauty and the Beast is also one. So is the Big Bad Wolf in
Red Riding Hood (Lupin, anyone?). Peter Gabriel's song "Kiss That
Frog" is a rather nice sum-up of the theory.
Having said that, I agree with the person who noted that, strictly
speaking, toads are not traditional Libido Beasts. I would also add
that if Trevor represents anyone's libido, it's Neville's, not
Hermione's.
