they've got one last year before leaving
Hogwarts. I know it's a bit confusing - I also though they had
finished, since they've already got ground work done for their shop. If
you're unsure, check the Lexicon, you'll be able to find canon on the
matter to your heart's consent.
Now me:
Has anyone ever noticed or have ideas on what happens when a student
"graduates" from Hogwarts? There doesn't seem to be any mention of a
ceremony. Maybe it takes place prior to the End of Year Feast? Noticed in
the flick-which-must-not-be-mentioned that the only itme the students were
wearing the pointy hats was at last feast-could this indicate
formal/official function/ceremony. We see things through Harry's eyes, so
perhaps since graduation hasn't been of significance to him, we don't hear
about it. Or maybe it's just attended by graduates. I've always been a bit
curious about this. It seems it would be a bit sad after 7 years to just be
done, nothing special happens, feast and go home like any other year. :(
Hey, BTW, while we're on the topic of seeing things through Harry's eyes
(sort of), In chapter 1 of GoF, is Harry dreaming all of that Riddle House
backstory?! If so, where did all that info come from? Was Voldemort
thinking about those events & it translated to that backstory in Harry's
dream? The part where Frank is seeing the firelight in the windows of the
house and then creeping in , eavesdropping etc, how would Harry get that
info? I guess I assume that he doesn't dream all that and his dream doesn't
include all f those details. Not sure i like that sudden channge of point
of view. Just started reading GoF again (I think 3rd or 4th time through) &
I guess I awlays assumed the whole thing was Harry'dream, but now realize
that doesn't make much sense! Also, if Harry heard Voldemort talking to
Wormtail in detail about killing Bertha Jorkins (as Frank heard) wouldn't
Harry feel he should mention that part of his dream to someone as well?
While everyone is wondering about what happened to her and Harry dreamt that
V killed her after extracting info from her, well, I can't imagine him
keeping that to himself! So, is this the only instance in which we, the
readers, know more than Harry? I for one, don't want to know more than
Harry! I guess at the beginning of Book One we get an omnicient POV-Uncle
Vernon's day, Dumbledore leaving him on the step. Is there any other time
that JKR does that?

Happy to be home from vacation & get back to ignoring my children while
sifting through e-mails. ;)
