Ahhh... but Barty *doesn't* want to recruit Snape. He doesn't want 
the assistance of *any* other DE's or former DE's. As far as Barty is 
concerned, he is the One true Death Eater Who Remained Loyal, and the 
rest of them are just traitorous scum who cut and ran when things 
looked grim.

Assuming he even knows that Snape had been a DE (and DE's aren't 
supposed to know each other, so that is open to question) to Barty, 
Snape is a disloyal weakling who chose to renouce his Master and go 
work for the bad guys, rather than knuckle down and try and restore 
Voldy. Not the sort of guy you go to for assistance.

Not to mention that Barty wants all the glory for himself.

It's too bad we never got a scene with Barty and Wormtail, each 
trying to out-faun the other. I bet they didn't get along very well.
