The fate of really spineless people, I presume?  Perhaps Karkaroff 
is one. :-)

No need to take Newt's word for it -- we saw Crouch/Moody do it to 
Draco.  The questin is, could Moody have used the same spell to turn 
himself into a ferret?  And if he did, how would he turn back?
