That eagle owl. Do we assume that this is the eagle owl that swoops over
Hagrid's hut towards the end of GoF? Is it the eagle owl that in Harry's
dream/ vision transports the Faithful Servant's news to Voldemort?
Does it imply that the Malfoys are involved in facilitating communication
between Voldemort and Crouch/Moody? It seems a bit of a coincidence that the
only eagle owl connections we are given (IIRC) are to the Malfoys and
Voldemort.
Or is it just that eagle owls are the Dark Side's messengers of choice? I had
assumed that Draco had one because it was perceived as aristocratic.

And Voldemort has his snake! I'm not sure that owning an animal per se is a
recommendation in the Potterverse. The characteristics of the pets/
associated animals may be more significant.
