I vote for Pettigrew being very brave and very cowardly. Can I do
that? But I also think that he used to be more righteously brave, and
he's lost that over the years.

I'm with you on that I think he is lacks fear on some levels but is a coward in that he is afraid of standing up to people he fears. I mean I don't think he truly feared Sirius, I mean when your a friends with a person it's really hard to fear them. Especially because you know almost everything about the person.

But I do not think that Pettigrew's bravery is really that simple. Perhaps, we just don't know what type of bravery Pettigrew is truly capable of I don't think we have seen it as of yet. I'm really thinking a possible redemption is in the future for him as well, I mean if we are right in assuming that he is a Gryffindor then she placed him there for a reason, and that was either to prove that evil exists everywhere or that Pettigrew has the capabilities of redeeming himself and showing true, " good" bravery and eventually work to overcome Voldemort.

That is a bit of a speculation though, I'm sort of voting for the sorting hat not being all that reliable. But then again we don't really know about that.

Question: Do we know whether or not Barty Crouch, Jr was a slytherin? I can't remember.
