The way they were in control of things (ie. not at all) at the end of 
GoF, I wouldn't have been surprised if Draco had seen the body. No, I 
think JKR meant to symbolize that Draco has gone off the deep end. 

Now, whether he can come back is another question. But I think he's 
already crossed the crucial line.
